New construction or upgrade. Single deadbolt or whole-house refit. Schlage Encode, Yale Assure, Medeco 3, or basic Kwikset SmartKey. We install most jobs same-day, source the hardware from the van, and walk you through the trade-offs before drilling anything.
Lock installation across PSL - deadbolts (Grade 1 / 2 / 3), knob sets, smart locks (Schlage Encode, Yale Assure 2, August), sliding-door locks (charley bar / foot lock / cylinder), mailbox locks, high-security (Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Schlage Primus).
Hardware sold at MSRP - no markup. Most installs finish in 30-60 minutes per door. We can drill new bores into older doors that don't have a deadbolt cut.
Lifetime hardware warranty applies as per manufacturer; our install workmanship warranty is 1 year.
If your house was built in the last fifteen years, the locks on the front door are almost certainly ANSI Grade 3 - the cheapest tier the builder could install and still pass code. They feel loose after eighteen months, the latch starts dragging, and the thumbturn wiggles in your hand.
Upgrading to a Grade 1 or Grade 2 set is a one-time spend that buys you another decade of solid, smooth-turning hardware. We install Schlage B60, Kwikset Halo, Yale Assure smart locks, and Baldwin handlesets - matched finishes, level strike plates, and the door swings closed without that hollow rattle.
Call (772) 284-5142 for a same-day quote on real residential hardware.
We do not install the bottom-shelf Grade 3 sets. Every lock we put on your door is BHMA-rated for residential heavy use.
Schlage front, Schlage back, Schlage garage entry - one key, one finish, one warranty.
We chisel mortises clean, shim the strike, and check the door is plumb before the new hardware goes on.
Single door swap is 45 minutes. Full house front + back + garage is usually under two hours.
You know the price before we unbox anything. No 'oh the door needs prep work, that is extra'.
A handyman will install the lock you bought. We will tell you which lock to buy. There is a difference between someone with a drill and someone who installs forty locks a month and knows which Schlage trim ships warped from the factory.
Satin nickel, matte black, aged bronze, polished brass - we carry it. No Home Depot detour.
Kwikset Halo, Yale Assure, August Home, Schlage Encode - configured to your WiFi before we leave.
Standard 1-inch screws shear off in a kick. We swap them for 3-inch screws into the framing. No upcharge.
If your back door stays and the front gets replaced, we rekey the back to match the new front. One key, whole house.
ANSI/BHMA grades locks 1 (highest) through 3 (lowest) on cycle life, strength, and security. Most homeowners don't know what they have, and most builders install the cheapest stuff that passes inspection.
Grade 1 (commercial): 1,000,000 cycles, 10 strikes at 75 lbs, 5-pin minimum. Schlage B660 / Medeco / Mul-T-Lock / ASSA Abloy commercial. You'll see these on commercial doors and on the front doors of homes whose owners care about security. Cost: $80-180 per cylinder.
Grade 2 (heavy residential): 400,000 cycles, 5 strikes at 75 lbs. Schlage B60 / Kwikset Signature Series. The right choice for most PSL homes. Cost: $40-80 per cylinder.
Grade 3 (residential builder-grade): 200,000 cycles, 2 strikes at 75 lbs. Defiant / Brinks / Master / cheap Kwikset. What most new construction installs. Cost: $15-40 per cylinder.
Honest take: Grade 2 is the sweet spot for PSL residential. Grade 1 makes sense for high-crime areas, rear / side doors, and homes with valuables. Grade 3 is fine for interior doors and outbuildings where security isn't critical. We carry all three on the van.

PSL housing stock is heavily post-2003 hurricane-code construction, which means:
Front door deadbolt, mid-budget: Schlage B60. Grade 2. Bump-resistant. $50-70.
Front door deadbolt, security priority: Schlage B660 Primus or Medeco 3. Grade 1 + restricted keyway (key copies require authorization). $120-220.
Smart lock, mainstream: Schlage Encode (Wi-Fi built-in) or Yale Assure 2 (Wi-Fi). $180-260.
Smart lock, low-effort retrofit: August Smart Lock 4th Gen - sits over your existing thumb-turn, leaves the door looking unchanged. $180-220.
Knob lock, interior: Schlage F40 or Kwikset 200. Grade 2. $25-40.
Sliding door lock: auxiliary thumb-lock (DoorMaster) or cylinder lock (TSS) plus a Charley bar for redundancy. $40-95 per door.
Mailbox cluster box: Salsbury / Florence USPS-compatible replacement cylinder. $35-60 per box.
We don't recommend: Defiant (builder grade, weak strike), Brinks (similar), Master padlocks on exterior doors (designed for travel locks, not residential). If your builder installed any of these, an upgrade is the most cost-effective security improvement you'll make on the house.

Call (772) 284-5142Single deadbolt change (existing bore, Grade 2 hardware): $120-180 installed plus the deadbolt ($25-80). Drilling a new bore (door that doesn't have a deadbolt cut) adds $40-80. High-security (Medeco / Mul-T-Lock / Schlage Primus) runs $200-320 installed plus hardware ($120-280).
Yes - we install customer-supplied hardware all the time. The install cost is the same; you save on whatever margin we'd have made on the hardware (which is none, we sell at MSRP). Caveats: if the hardware is broken, missing pieces, or wrong size for your door, we'll tell you on-site. Bring the box AND the screws + keys + included parts.
Yes - we install Schlage Encode, Schlage Sense, Yale Assure / Assure 2, August Smart Lock 4th Gen, Kwikset Halo / Halo Touch. Includes full Wi-Fi pairing tested from outside the door (a common issue we see: smart lock pairs to the home network but the signal dies at the door because of concrete-block construction; we test before leaving). We don't install very budget no-name smart locks because the cylinder hardware is unreliable.
Yes - gate locks (Wright Products, Stanley, Schlage commercial gate hardware) we install regularly. Common request is a keyed gate lock on a pool gate or rear-yard fence - Florida pool code requires self-closing self-latching gates around residential pools, and we can spec a Code-compliant lock + self-closing hinge package. Typical pool gate retrofit $180-300 installed including hardware.
Yes - we cut a new bore using a hole saw kit. Adds about 15-25 minutes to the standard install. Catch: very thin doors (some interior hollow-core doors) won't accept a standard 2-3/8" / 2-3/4" deadbolt bore - for those we'd recommend a knob-only lock instead. We tell you on-site if your door is in that category.
For a Florida home with above-average security needs: Schlage B660 Primus (Grade 1, restricted keyway, $120-180 hardware) or Medeco 3 (Grade 1, anti-pick / anti-bump / anti-drill, $180-280 hardware). Pair with a Grade 1 strike plate with 3" screws into the studs (not just into the door frame), and a properly aligned door - the strongest deadbolt fails on a kick-in if the strike is screwed into thin pine framing.
We install locks daily across PSL, with the highest install volume in newer construction areas - Tradition (Telaro, Veranda Bay), St Lucie West (PGA Verano, Lakeforest), and Magnolia Lakes. Older inventory in Bayshore and Sandpiper Bay often needs new-bore work or upgrade from Grade 3 builder hardware.
